Description
* We have received reports that container carrier, MERCOSUL ITAJAI (IMO: 9697002) ran aground whilst navigating the Amazon River off Macapa, Brazil on 11 June 2024.
* It is reported that the vessel was subsequently refloated with tug assistance and has moved to anchor at Macapa for inspection.
* It is possible that General Average/Salvage and associated Recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.
