Description
* We have received reports that containership ALASA (IMO:9162681) experienced an engine failure in a position west of Nisyros Island, Greece on 01 July 2024.
* It is reported the crew were unable to repair the engine and consequently the vessel was taken under tow by tug towards Lavrio port, Greece for inspection and, possibly, repairs.
* It is possible that General Average / Salvage and associated Recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.
* We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
