Description
* We have received reports that container ship, LIONFISH (IMO: 9162667) experienced an engine failure whilst navigating the Black Sea on 23 June 2024.
* It is reported that the crew carried out temporary repairs and the vessel later moved to anchor at Sinop Anchorage, Turkey before the vessel experienced a further engine failure there on 25 June 2024.
* We understand that the vessel is currently under tow by tug towards Ambarli, Turkey for inspection, and possibly, repairs.
* It is possible that General Average / Salvage issues may arise as a result of this incident, as well as claims for deterioration of any temperature sensitive or time sensitive cargo stowed on board the vessel as a consequence of the prolongation of the voyage.
