Description
* We have received reports that smoke was observed coming from a cargo hold on container carrier, MAERSK CINCINNATI (IMO: 9936410) whilst in a position off Richard's Bay, South Africa on 15 September 2024.
* It is reported that no flames were seen by the crew and the cargo hold's temperature remained under control. Nevertheless, the vessel later moved to anchor at Richard's Bay under its own power, where it currently remains, presumably for inspection, and possibly repairs.
* It is possible that Recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.
