Description
* We have received reports that the general cargo vessel SOMMEN (IMO: 9968138) experienced an engine failure while transiting the Kiel Canal, Germany on 30 September 2024.
* It was reported that the vessel was taken under tow by tug to Brunsbuttel after several unsuccessful attempts to restart the engine. The vessel is currently berthed at Brunsbuttel port for inspection and possibly repairs.
* It is possible that General Average issues may arise as a result of this casualty.
