Description
* We have received reports that container ship WEGA (IMO: 9141118) experienced an engine failure in a position approximately 23 nautical miles northeast of Kythira Island, Greece, on 9 October 2024.
* It is reported that the crew were unable to effect repairs. Consequently, a tug was appointed to take the vessel under tow to Syros Island, Greece for inspection, where the vessel is currently moored.
* It is possible that General Average, Salvage and associated recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.
* We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo stowed on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
