Description
* We have received reports that containership CMA CGM BALBAO (IMO: 9344655), experienced a steering gear failure and subsequently allided with the dock at Barranquilla, Colombia, on 02 October 2024.
* It is reported that the vessel sustained damage to its ballast tanks and experienced an ingress of water. The vessel was later taken under tow by up to four tugs to the Barranquilla Terminal for cargo discharge and inspection, where the vessel currently remains moored.
* It is possible that General Average / Salvage and associated recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.
