Description
* We have received reports that a fire was ignited on board Liquefied Petroleum Gas Carrier, B- LPG SOPHIA (IMO: 9175846), during an STS transfer of cargo from Liquefied Petroleum Gas Carrier, CAPTAIN NIKOLAS, at Chattogram outer anchorage on 13 October 2024.
* It is reported that the Bangladesh Coast Guard and Navy deployed fire-fighters to assist in extinguishing the fire, which is reported to have been brought under control later the same day.
* It is possible that General Average/Salvage and Recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.
