Description
* We have received reports that general cargo ship, KUALA MAS (IMO: 9555632) went adrift and subsequently allided with combined chemical and oil tanker MARITIM KHATULISTIWA (IMO: 9300776) at Tenau Port anchorage, Indonesia on 21 December 2024.
* It is reported that KUALA MAS subsequently capsized and sank as a result of the allision.
* Latest reports indicate that approximately 21 containers have been recovered from the vessel by the local authorities whilst other containers stowed on board the vessel are likely to be totally lost as a result of the incident.
* It is possible that Recovery issues will arise as a result of this incident. We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
