Description
* We have received reports that Bulk carrier PANORIA (IMO: 9480930) experienced a fire in the engine room in a position approximately 23 nautical miles southwest of Cape Eluanbi, Taiwan on 04 January 2024.
* It is reported that the fire was extinguished by the crew but the vessel lost power and went adrift as a consequence of the fire. A tug later took the vessel under tow towards Kaohsiung Port, Taiwan, for inspection and, possibly, repairs.
* It is possible that General Average/Salvage and associated Recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.
