Description
* We have received reports that container ship, MSC ELSA 3 (IMO: 9123221) developed a severe list in monsoon weather conditions in a position approximately 38 nautical miles south west of Kochi, India on 24 May 2025 and subsequently sank on 25 May 2025.
* It is reported that all of the crew were safely evacuated from the vessel.
* Some containers from the vessel have drifted ashore in the region and we have surveyors available to inspect any recovered/washed up cargo.
* It is likely that recovery issues will arise as a result of this casualty. We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
