Description
* We have received reports that containership DON TOYO (MMSI: 755175000) allided with the riverbank whilst navigating the Paraguay River, near Humaita, Brazil, during its maiden voyage on 18 June 2025.
* It is reported that the vessel sustained the loss of one of its two rudders as a result of the allision and the vessel later returned to Asuncion, under its own power, to effect repairs and replacement of the rudder.
* We understand that the necessary repairs to the vessel will entail discharge of the cargo currently stowed on board the vessel.
* It is therefore possible that General Average may arise as a result of this casualty and any time sensitive cargo stowed on board the vessel may be adversely affected by the inevitable prolongation of the voyage.
* We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
