Description
* We have received reports that the bulk carrier RADCLIFFE R. LATIMER (IMO: 7711725) experienced a fire in its engine room while navigating in Lake Superior, Canada, on 11 August 2025.
* The fire was reportedly extinguished using the vessel’s CO₂ system, but it resulted in a complete loss of power, leaving the vessel drifting.
* As a result, a tug was dispatched to tow the vessel to the anchorage at Sault Ste. Marie for inspection and possible repairs.
* It is possible that GA, Salvage and associated Recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.
