Description

* We have received reports that bulk carrier FEDERAL YAMASKA (IMO:9609665) lost power and consequently ran aground in the St. Lawerence River, near Vercheres, Canada, on 12 August 2025.

* It is reported that 3,200 tonnes of sugar were unloaded from the vessel before being successfully refloated.

* The vessel is now being towed to Montreal where the remaining cargo on board will be discharged.

* It is likely that General Average/Salvage and associated Recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
