Description
* We have received reports that general cargo ship THAMESBORG (IMO: 9546459) ran aground whilst navigating the Franklin Strait, Canada, on 6 September 2025.
* It is reported that the vessel sustained hull damage, including breaches to multiple ballast tanks, but that the vessel remains aground in a stable condition.
* We understand that a local Coast Guard vessel has been deployed to assist the vessel and that a salvage team is currently en route to assist to refloat the vessel.
* It is possible that General Average issues may arise as a result of this casualty.
* We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
