Description
* We have received reports that vehicle carrier, GRANDE ROMA experienced a fire in the engine room in a position approximately 21 nautical miles south of Weymouth, UK on 25 October 2025.
* It is reported that the crew were able to bring the fire under control. Nevertheless, the vessel was later taken under tow by tug towards Le Havre, France for inspection and, possibly, repairs.
* It is possible that General Average / Salvage and associated Recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.
* We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any of the cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
